Happy Holidays
With holiday photos all wrapped up and Santa right around the corner, I had to share some pictures and ideas from the latest photo shoot that inspired this blog.
Charlotte has become Sophi Blu’s muse. Not only is she adorable she has one huge personality on her. She is smart as a whip, so smart that I do not envy her parents. Nothing gets past this little cutie. Did I mention that she takes amazing pictures? Well, she takes amazing pictures.
Charlotte’s mom Lauren is a close friend of mine and shares the same passion that I do for fabulous fashion. We dress Charlotte up in some of the cutest outfits and Charlotte obliges. The most recent shoot we did with Charlotte was with the holidays in mind, but of course Lauren and I got carried away accessorizing her and before we knew it Charlotte was laden in faux fur.

What we love about this look is that the Mayoral Faux Fur coat is actually a 6 month old size. This is a great way to get use out of jackets that you may have thought your daughter has outgrown. Wear the jacket open and suddenly you have an adorable cropped jacket that looks great over a dress with leggings.
Lauren and I couldn’t stop with just one outfit. This next photo is one of my favorite photos ever. The minute Charlotte locked her eyes on these earmuffs she wasn’t letting them get away and we were not about to complain! We decided to pair them with this Catamini red cardigan for a fun girly look perfect for the holiday’s.

Every time I look at these photos of this adorable little girl I just smile. You may not be able to afford clothes for yourself anymore, but when its this much fun to dress up your mini-me, who cares!

Amazing Baby Bunting by 7 A.M Enfant
We just got the 7 A.M Enfant “Bag O Coat Convertible Bunting”. We here at Sophi Blu love this item. It is super soft and warm. The kimono aspect makes this item easy to wear and who doesn’t love convertible items?

Rebecca Campora began designing in Paris, where she founded Studio 7 A.M. In the late 1990s, she relocated to New York City and quickly fell in love with the excitement of her new home. Following the birth of her second child, she looked for ways to make parenting in such a fast-paced environment easier, while still taking advantage of all that the city has to offer. Using her design skills, she began creating parenting products that were both practical and stylish. ‘I wanted to design products that were not just for the individual, but benefitted the family as a whole,’ she explains. 7 A.M.Enfant was born.

Rocker Tee’s Are Here and Cooler Than Ever

I don’t know about you guys, but all of my friends are starting to have kids. So it would make sense for the bands that Rowdy Sprout is debuting for this Fall are bands we grew up with and loved. Nirvana and the Beastie Boys are two of my favorite. The color combination and the vintage look is awesome. They also have Elvis and The Allman Brothers Band. These tee’s start at 3-6m onesies and go up to size 6 t-shirts. They can be worn on either a boy or a girl. Get them quick because they do not stay for long and re-orders are tough. Now all we need is a little Pearl Jam and The Dave Matthews Band and we will be all set.

Bikini Time
I guess I have to admit that summer is in full throttle and so is bikini season. I started thinking about wearing a bikini looooong before I started getting my body actually ready for wearing one. The children have an easy time looking absolutely adorable in one, throw your little man in Charlie Rocket board shorts and he is sure to turn heads on the beach. Put your little princess in a Pink Chicken bathing suit with matching cover up and I guarantee the other moms will be emailing you after the pool party wondering what she was wearing and where you got it.
That’s the easy part…now comes the hard part; looking confident in MY bikini. So it begins. What not to eat, what I eat when I am alone and feel guilty about later, what I tell people I only ate a little bit of when I really had seconds and thirds. Then the exercise. This has always been the hardest for me. I can think of anything else to do than workout. I will clean my toilet before I will go for a jog. I quickly realized that something needs to be done. Gyms don’t work for me, yoga is a no no, I can’t even touch my toes, and pilates is too expensive. Oh and I forgot to mention that my mother is one of the fittest older woman I have ever seen and my sister is a personal trainer…yea. So I bit the bullet and told my sister that I need her to train me.
I was nervous at first. I am the older sister and if I don’t want to do what my little sister says, I am not doing it. But to my surprise it has worked out amazing! This is the first year I am not dreading my bikini and I have my sister to thank.
So for you ladies out there like me, and I know I am not alone, working with a personal trainer was the best decision I ever made. It’s also not that expensive as many of you would think. For a half hour session it’s $25 and I am doing it twice a week. My sister also wants to offer a promotion to all my Sophi Blu customers; free training session and consultation and $10 off your first package bought of 10 sessions.
I am not saying this because she is my sister, she is great at what she does. Please feel free to contact me at sophibluinc@gmail or my sister:

99 Red Balloons
Every season I like to do an editorial shoot for the site. This year I asked my friend Lauren if her daughter would be able to be my model and these photos are what we got! I love them. My vision was minimalistic with pops of color. The red balloons are a great contrast against the white backdrop. Her dark hair and grey dress also stand their own ground against the bright red. I love how these pics came out. If you would like to know more about the photographer feel free to visit her site; www.cheryllynnsdesigns.com

Lucky Kids Magazine
I would like to begin by saying the Lucky Kids magazine is awesome. I don’t know about you, but I hold Lucky Magazine for women as my fashion bible. Now they have introduced one for kids, which basically means, for mommy. It only comes out seasonally, the first issue being Spring 2011 available in stores now..
The main reason I was so excited to get the magazine was Sophi Blu was in it. They highlighted the Le Tennis Bensimon shoes and we here at Sophi Blu got the credit. For a new store, this is very exciting. Check it out on page 72, you might need a magnifying glass, but its still there.
The contents of the magazine are great. They give a number of great finds and fashions to help you jump start your spring fashion looks. Sophi Blu carries a few things that were highlighted in the magazine. The following you can find at the store:
Page 37: the owl canvas storage bin from 3 sprouts along with some great tips for decorating your kids room.
Page 42: The Maileg bunny’s. We do not carry these exact ones but we carry similar bunny rattles and other great accessories from this label. Check out the amazing angel wings and the cloud mobile on this page we well, we are already on top of getting those items into the store asap!
Page 48: the star swaddles by aden and anais.
Page 52: paisley diaper cover by pink chicken. We have this print plus many others.
Page 72: Just telling you again that this is the page where we have our name printed, we’re just a little excited.
These are just the pages where we carry the items. The rest of the magazine is filled with adorable styles and labels that we here at Sophi Blu can’t wait to get our hands on.

Lauren and I Hit the Trade Show
This Sunday me my friend Lauren and I hopped on the train into the NYC to hit the 2011 Fall Children’s show at the Javits center. In the past I have had to go solo, but this time I enlisted the help of my style guru Lauren.
Our Mission: To find cute and different accessories for babies and moms.
The first row we walked down we found this adorable label called tree by Kerri Lee. Tree is a line of baby accessories and baby room decorations. The owner and designer, kerri lee, was manning the booth. Upon chatting with her she explained that she was inspired by vintage pieces and making them modern. We found the designs to be just that, minimalist and modern. The unusual color combinations make it fun and different. We ordered the book-ends in all three options.
We also ordered the wind-up music boxes and you wind it by a door knob. I am so excited to get these into the store.
The day began to wind down and we were exhausted. Our dinner reservations at Crispo’s were looking better and better as the minutes passed. On our way out we saw this one last booth Smiling Planet. This company designs safe earth friendly plates.
They come packaged with a plate and a bowl in recycled materials. This is great as a gift and who doesn’t love the little trick to get your little one to eat…”find the fairy at the bottom of the bowl!”
So the day was a success, mission accomplished! A great thanks to Lauren for helping me find these great new labels. I will keep you posted on all the wonderful new arrivals.

Loving Tom Petty
So, many of you might agree with me that Tom Petty Rocks. I am not sure why this has happened but I have had a resurgence of my obsession with this band. I always thought they were awesome, I know all their songs (who doesn’t), but lately I can’t seem to get enough.
Currently my ultimate favorite that I have on repeat is “Don’t Come Around Here No More”. I honestly love this song right now. It just makes me want to dance with my eyes closed. This also may have to do with the fact that one of my favorite things in the store right now is my Tom Petty onesie for baby girls. It just makes me want to listen to their greatest hits album (which I am doing as I am writing this).

So have a wonderful rainy day. I know Tom will be helping me get through it. Also if your in town, Sophi Blu is having a rainy day sale: 15% OFF the new Spring Merchandise. I told you Tom Petty makes me happy!
